Activities That Bring People Together
International Day of Older Persons — October 1, 2025
To mark the International Day of Older Persons, members of the student council presented residents with a greeting card signed by all high school students. The final touch came from Sarah Stefan, a Grade 10 student, who offered a painting that she created: a piece depicting the joy shared between generations and all the love that residents give our students through Carrefour Mosaïque.
A moment filled with love, for people who truly deserve it.

Knitting Classes (Weekly)
Knitting Classes (Weekly)
Residents shared their know-how by teaching knitting and crocheting to high school students. A truly intergenerational activity in the most authentic sense: the elders taught, the young people learned, and bonds were woven stitch by stitch.

Spanish Class (Weekly)
At residents’ request, our students offered a Spanish class that was greatly appreciated. ¡Muchas gracias!

Technology Support (Weekly)
High school students provided valuable help to residents by answering their questions about using their electronic devices. A very useful troubleshooting activity — and in very pleasant company!

Walking Club (Weekly)
On Mondays and Fridays, high school students walk with seniors from Résidence l’Amitié, matching their pace while exchanging on topics that are important to them: school, family, friendship, plans for the future, and even the place of artificial intelligence in their lives.

What a joy to walk with these young women who respect our pace while talking about things they care about. The exchanges were warm and engaging.

Line Dancing (Weekly)
At the residents’ request, students in the dance program led line dancing classes—one of the most popular activities, right up there with walking!
Dance Show (Annual)
In May, the Salto dance option of the second cycle presents its annual dance show in the spacious lounge area of the Résidence, offering seniors a true celebration of the dancers’ diversity and talent.

Robotics Demonstration (Annual)
Every year, the Robotique Marcelline team showcases its robots to the residents and invites them to operate them themselves! The first portion of the event allows the team to tell the story of Robotique Marcelline and present its world-class achievements. Residents are always impressed and delighted.

What an incredible demonstration! We learned that they are national champions and in the top 1% of teams in the world. We truly appreciated it. Bravo and thank you!

What Carrefour Mosaïque Brings to High School Students

Students who dedicate time to Carrefour Mosaïque all say the same thing: they thought they were going to be the ones to give, but they were the ones who came away feeling most enriched. Listening, patience, empathy, openness to others: essential interpersonal skills, learned not in a textbook, but through a real relationship with a real person.
Residents appreciate these moments that take them out of their daily routine. And in turn, the young people learn from the elders.
