Travel: Another Way to Grow

At Collège Sainte-Marcelline, learning goes beyond the classroom walls. Every year, high school students are invited to discover the world. From Québec to British Columbia, from Ontario to Europe, they broaden their general knowledge, develop their independence and have experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Québec City — Grade 7

The first high school trip begins where it all started: at the heart of historic Québec. Over three days, Grade 7 students explore the cultural richness of the capital — from the Huron Village of Wendake to the Plains of Abraham, from the Citadelle to the National Assembly, via the Aquarium and the lively streets of Old Québec. A stay that is both eye-opening and rooted in Québec identity, with a francophone guide throughout the journey.

Toronto and Niagara — Grade 8

Off to Ontario for an immersion in Canada’s metropolis and one of the continent’s most spectacular natural sites. Grade 8 students discover Toronto (the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum…) before heading to Niagara Falls for a cruise through the rapids, and a memorable evening at the Medieval Times dinner show. A trip that combines urban discovery, culture and wonder.

Italy — Grades 9 and 10

Nine days in Italy to dive into the heart of History, art and Mediterranean culture. Students travel through Tuscany, Pisa and its famous UNESCO-listed leaning tower, magnificent Florence and its Ponte Vecchio, the medieval city of San Gimignano, the coastal landscapes of Cinque Terre, before reaching Rome for an immersion in Antiquity: the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. A rich and unforgettable cultural trip.

Vancouver and Victoria — Grades 9 and 10

Six days between ocean and mountains to discover the magic of Canada’s West Coast. Students begin with Victoria — Craigdarroch Castle, Fisherman’s Wharf, the majestic Malahat SkyWalk and the ancient forest of Cathedral Grove — before crossing to Vancouver on the BC Ferries. On the agenda: the UBC Museum of Anthropology, Granville Island, the Grouse Mountain gondola, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Stanley Park by bicycle and the aquarium. A trip that combines wilderness, cultural diversity and adventure.

French Riviera, Italian Excursion and Paris — Grade 11

The graduating students’ trip is a fitting culmination of five years of high school: ten days between the light of the Mediterranean and the energy of Paris. The stay begins in Marseille with a cruise through the Calanques de Cassis, then continues along the French Riviera — Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Fragonard perfumery in Grasse, the Croisette in Cannes, the Promenade des Anglais in Nice and the Principality of Monaco. A train excursion takes students to Italy, to Finale Ligure, for a day of flavours and discoveries. The trip ends in Paris by TGV, with the Louvre, Notre-Dame, Montmartre, a Seine River cruise and much more. A graduation trip worthy of a great adventure.
