Elementary School Extracurricular Activities
Extracurricular Activities: A World of Discovery in Elementary School
Because discovering passions and pushing beyond one's limits starts from the earliest age, Collège Sainte-Marcelline offers an exceptional variety of extracurricular activities. In elementary school, our diverse offering is a daily invitation to explore new horizons, move, create and grow together.
Moving and Excelling: Our Sports Activities

Karate
Collège Sainte-Marcelline offers its grade school students a karate program, in partnership with Karaté Sportif.
Much more than a martial art, karate is a complete discipline that develops both body and mind. Students progress at their own pace, from white belt to black belt, experiencing pride at every new milestone.
Floor Hockey
Collège Sainte-Marcelline is proud to present its floor hockey team, registered with RSEQ Montréal (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec). Without ice or skates, floor hockey is the ideal sport to introduce elementary school students to the basics of hockey, while developing a wide range of essential skills. Played in the gymnasium, this accessible and dynamic team sport is a wonderful opportunity for your child to experience the passion of hockey in a safe and stimulating environment!

Soccer
Taking advantage of the school’s beautiful grounds and large soccer field, our elementary school students get to play the world’s most popular sport at school, coached by a Les Petits As soccer specialist. Each session is carefully structured: a dynamic warm-up, followed by targeted technical exercises adapted to students’ age and level, and ending with a match where your child puts their new skills into action!
Running Club
Does your child love moving, burning energy and taking on new challenges? The running club is for them! Under the supervision of our physical education teacher, this activity invites students to lace up their sneakers and discover the joy of running at their own pace, in a spirit of self-improvement and camaraderie. Whether to improve endurance, prepare for a race or simply move more, every student is encouraged to do their best in a positive and motivating atmosphere.

Cheerleading
Over the course of sessions, young cheerleaders learn the basics of the discipline: choreographed routines, arm movements, jumps and group formations. Led by our physical education teacher, students progress at their own pace in a safe environment where self-confidence and solidarity are the real stars. Cheerleading is much more than an extracurricular activity, it is a unique experience where children learn to express themselves with pride, trust their teammates and discover the joy of performing together.
Dance
Does your child love moving to music and expressing themselves through movement? The dance program is a golden opportunity to let their body and creativity speak! Led with enthusiasm by one of our teachers, this activity gives students a space to explore the world of dance in all its diversity. Students discover different styles, work on coordination, rhythm and expressiveness while building confidence. Each class is an invitation to surpass oneself, have fun and create choreography that the whole school can be proud of.

Awakening the Mind, Creativity and Reflection

Science en folie
Does your child love asking questions, observing the world and making discoveries? Science en folie is made for them! In a fun and stimulating setting, students explore the wonders of science through concrete, colourful and surprising experiments. Each session, young budding scientists manipulate, experiment and observe fascinating phenomena: from chemical reactions to optical illusions, fun physics and the mysteries of life. No need to be a genius. Here, curiosity is the only requirement!
Chess
In partnership with Les Petits As, our grade school students can discover the fascinating world of chess, guided by qualified instructors. Much more than a board game, chess is recognized for its many benefits for the development of school-aged children. Through its playful nature, your child develops curiosity, perseverance and determination — all while having fun!

Canvas Painting
Does your child have the soul of an artist? The painting workshop offered by Les Petits As is the perfect place to let their creativity run free! In an inspiring environment, students discover the world of painting through varied projects, tailored to their age and imagination. Guided by passion
Choir
The school choir is a unique opportunity to let your voice resonate in harmony with classmates! Led with passion by our music teacher, this activity brings students together around the joy of singing and sharing beautiful musical moments. Students discover varied songs, work on their listening, accuracy and sense of rhythm while building the confidence to express themselves in front of others. Choir is also the opportunity to prepare wonderful performances for school events, and to make unforgettable memories.

Cooking Workshop
Two passionate members of Collège Sainte-Marcelline’s staff are dedicated to sharing with students the joy of cooking and the importance of eating well, every day. Much more than a simple cooking class, this extracurricular activity is a real school of life, where your child discovers, experiments and develops essential skills that will accompany them throughout the years!
Robotics Club
Robotics doesn’t stop in the classroom! Throughout the year, our competitive robotics club allows students to elevate the learning through our scheduled robotics program. Week after week, students deepen their knowledge of mechanics, programming and problem-solving, all while developing their creativity and team spirit. They work to design, program and refine their robots in preparation for a concrete and stimulating goal: the Zone 01 provincial competition!

Improv & Theatre
Through dynamic and fun games inspired by theatrical techniques, children discover the exciting world of theatre. They learn to create characters, improvise with confidence and tell captivating stories while exploring different roles. Each workshop becomes a unique opportunity to express oneself, laugh, cooperate and grow in confidence.
A Commitment Rooted in Values
For families who wish it, we also offer caring support to accompany children in their spiritual journey, through our preparation programs for the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
